Day 18

Today we took a long walk along the Steven's Creek trail to what apparently is known as a farmer's market here in Mountain view. It's apparently a very big bay area farmer's market loaded with fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, peaches, grapes, heirloom tomatoes which, according to an NPR interviews, had their origins in Mexico) and vegetables (squash, peppers, basil, corn). There were also some strange concoctions - chocolate chip cookies courtesy of Uncle Kevin and tear-eee-yucky tofu that dad got for mom. The way we see it, we're not too sure what other kind of market there would be. We always thought that beautiful food like this always came from the farmers. Dad said "Oh no, there are companies like the one that Uncle Erik is at, which can produce all sorts of beautiful and delicious foods without any farmers being involved." That's awesome!

The trip was especially fun because Rachel and Kevin came with us. The most fun part was when Uncle Kevin picked up the double stroller and carried us up a series of stairs on our way to and back from the market. We also ran into mom and dad's friend from college Aunt Jen Yuan. She had an 18 month old who looked about 6'4" to us. She was TALL!

The market itself was a veritable day care center autoshow. All the other babies were showing off their sweet rides: the city minis, the BOBs, the Maclarens. But we love our our snap n go double stroller. Dad said that our stroller is so hard to navigate you need launch codes to get this thing to change course. All we know is that we're cruising in the equivalent of our '64 impalla. Get some hydraulics on this baby!

It was a tiring day but it was fun to be outside. Plus we had lots of excitement between seeing lots of people and going back in time to the agrarian roots of mom and dad. Apparently Grandpa B grew up on a farm with his brother Frank and Grandpa W grew up in a fishing village.

  2. Hey guys. I'm sorry we missed you at the FM last weekend (though there are so many strollers there that I'm not surprised we did). If you go again this weekend let us know. We'd LOVE to see you and meet the twinsies!
