Day 1706 (Y4D246) 3/26/2016

Dear mommy,

Well that was a little bit of a disaster getting here.  We took our 1am red eye to costa rica only to have the pilot come on the intercom about 1.5 hours in saying that we had to turn the plane around and return to Los Angeles.  Oh boy... with 5 young kids i tow?  We get back to LAX at 4am and then camp out for another 3 hours until the next plane boards.  And guess what, because there is a plane-change, this one had fewer seats which meant that RJMOB got bumped to another flight.  This was seriously turning out to be a disaster.  Well we sucked it up and Uncle Ban, Daddy and we got on the plane, hoping for some joy.

We arrive in San Jose and then waited for RJMOB to arrive.  We were pretty cranky but happy for our ipads.  Uncle Ban tried to see if we could re-arrange our flights and of course we couldn't.  Instead Auntie Ryan coordinated a charter flight that would take us to Tambor regardless of time (that is unless we arrived after 4:30pm, in which the dirt airstrip that doubles as an airport closed down because it doesn't have lights).

But sure enough as all things usually are, RJMOB arrived and we packed onto a couple tiny airplanes and made it to tambor.  From there it was hop skip and a pothole laden drive to Malpais/Santa Teresa.  We actually knew this part of the trip from last year, but this time we were in a nice 15 person van.  Still when we showed up at Casa Kalafken and returned to the cabana we had last year, we felt right at home... just a little older.

We met Auntie Ryan's and Uncle Josh's friends Corinne,  Trip and Cam.  They were very fun to hang out with and we were excited for the pool, a low key dinner and hitting the sack.

We love you and miss you mommy!
