First off, happy/sad anniversary mommy. It has been one year since you left us. We received amazing outpourings of thoughts and love from all around the globe which we really appreciate. We miss you dearly and really wish you were here. Daddy and we thought of you a lot last night and imagined you being here and how much fun you'd be having. Everyone checked in on Daddy today about you but it was universally agreed that somehow your presence was here.
Daddy and uncle josh are feeling exceptionally kooky because they can't get out through the relentless onslaught of waves. They decided to switch boards that they rented yesterday, for a couple shorter boards, so they can "duckie" dive through the waves. Still it is really fun to be in the ocean. We are thoroughly enjoying the beach, including the fun tide pools that form at low tide. We like how the ocean laps at our feet and we giggle and fall down onto the sand. Daddy keeps yelling at us to stand up (we think he's worried that we're going to be ripped by the current, although actually the rips are pretty strong here). Mostly we stuck around the house and swam. We enjoyed the amazing sunsets, which go from low sky to gone in just about 3 minutes. The sun falls quickly. We walked on the beach to dinner at one of the nearby beach hotels and found this amazing buddhist place that served amazing food. Owen shared his butter pasta with us while we ate our pizza (odd, right? we don't usually like pizza).
It was another day to soak up paradise. The sunset we got seemed a bit like a signal that you sent to us. It was a little cloudy on the horizon and if you squinted really hard, it seemed that you could feel a message coming through. You were very much here with us mommy.
