Day 1196 (Y3D102) - Halloween!

Dear mommy!

Today is Halloween!  After much build up about our lego costumes, our halloween pumpkin baskets and going trick or treating, we couldn't wait for the adventure.  We had a pretty relaxing day with Sue and she got us to nap despite all of the excitement.  Gugu and Uncle Kevin came over to help us get ready and were so excited for our costumes.  Daddy made some on-the-fly adjustments (including duct taping an old (unused) diaper for extra cushioning in the box) to our costumes and we were ready to go.  Dinks kept saying "I want lots of candy!".  Uncle Kevin, dressed as a scary 30 year old guy, stayed home to hand out candy while we started our adventure.

We went to go meet our friend Oliver for their group trick or treating and it was amazing.  We started by getting our very own halloween glow sticks.  It wasn't long before we realized that running up to strangers' houses and yelling "trick or treat" was pretty much the best thing ever.  We enjoyed seeing the decorations of spiders and pumpkins every where.  We noticed the glut of Elsa and Anna costumes but we thought our legos were pretty cool.  The cups started coming off towards the end of the night but it served its purpose.  We got some really cool candy including some big ones!  Twinks was really enamored by these "Gummi Twins" (half sour, half sweet).  Dinks meanwhile identified the wrapper of an Almond Joy as pretty cool (eww!).

We left the neighborhood trick or treating to go see our Teacher Lara, who also lives in our neighborhood. We got to meet her family (including her daughter and husband) and we had a great time at her friend's house, which was amazing and scary at the same time.  We did a little trick or treating before heading home for dinner and our candy feast.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy halloween!  We're going to be looking forward to the one next year for sure!

We love you and miss you mommy!
