Day 1018 (Y2D288) - Happy Birthday Mommy

Dear mommy,

Happy 38th birthday!  Daddy wore his mommy AML shirt and Aunt Jessie wore her Aunt Kimmy shirt.  We did some crazy celebration with all the family today - drawing happy birthday signs, potty training,  football, and tracing.  Cuzzies from Long Island came by to say farewell one last time.  We had a great time with all of the Brigatis, reminiscing about old times when you and Aunt Jessie would spend lots of time with them.  Cousin Carly was amazing... she taught us about riding and spinning in our toys.

Daddy, Aunt Jessie, Mema and Aunt Linny took you to the ocean to help you enjoy the sunshine, water and trees.  Daddy just drove down highway 1 until he felt like he found a spot for you.  He found a nice little beach and was surprised to find that it was Big Basin State Park!  He recalled lovingly when you and he had spent time for your birthday (birthiversary!) in Big Basin, camping and hiking, just a few weeks after the Boston Marathon.  It was a precious time in his mind and now we have extra good reason to go camping and hiking there.  We guess that was before we were born but daddy felt so lucky to find a place that holds a memory of you.  The four of them celebrated your birthday by having lunch at Kelly's French Bakery in Santa Cruz and brought us back some delicious macarons.

In the afternoon we went to the grey slide park with Max and Ki where we spent a wondrous time playing together.  It is amazing to ride a tire swing with three people!  We then went to Cheesecake Factory where we ate amazingly and were rewarded with some cheesecake.  We had ourselves a little dance party!  We were exhausted upon returning home

We are sad to see all of our family return home tomorrow.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate your life mommy and we had a really great day celebrating your birthday.  Daddy felt sad all day except when he saw us.  We are lucky girls to have had you as our mommy.

Remembering you (mommy):

here is something cool you wrote for a class in college (ME116B), courtesy of our friend Uncle Micah.  It is a obituary you wrote for yourself when you were 21.

We love you and miss you terribly mommy.

Here is our day:

yum macarons!
