Day 984 (Y2D254)

Dear mommy,

Daddy told us that he and mema went to visit you one more time.  He said that he brought pieces of us, family and friends that will travel with you to your final resting place.  Daddy and mema surrounded you with our handiwork.  We feel blessed that you will have a piece of us with you forever.  Daddy and mema had a nice time reminiscing about you, wondering about how you were the person you were and talked about ways that we could remember you by.  Mema had a great idea for people to write letters to us about mom, very specific details about you and events in your life.  We'll explore this in subsequent letters.

We had another rainy day here in the bay area.  V snuck us out to the park for a brief moment before the rains returned, causing us to spend another day working on potty training and sleeping in the same room during nap time.  V has been working hard with us on putting our stuff away after we're done with it.  You'd be proud mommy.  We know how much you like organization.  We even were trying to organize our lunch boxes.

Daddy and mema went to the library and got us new books.  We read this one book called "My family" by Todd Parr.  We do love his books, but this one seemed to make daddy sad because our family has changed so suddenly in the last week.  We don't quite understand but we can empathize.  We had a really great time getting ready for bed.  We tried to scare and scare mema but she would have none of it.

We have been receiving amazing gifts from friends all over the world: flowers, baskets, electric guitars and gifts.  We can't thank everyone enough.  We appreciate them even though we feel that people don't have to.  We have been receiving amazing memories of you.  Mema was especially touched by your friend M's collection of photos when you were just 20 and living in Italy.  We love seeing you when you were a young woman exploring the world for the first time, before you became our mommy.  You seemed adventurous, full of life and exhilarated by friends and new experiences.  We hope we can follow your footsteps and maybe we'll try to find the places that are in those pictures.

Another video daddy found.  Mommy and Dinks.

Farewell mommy.  We hope you are resting well.  We miss you and love you.

Here are pictures of you:

  1. God bless you all. This brings tears to my eyes. We continue to think of you all and pray for you. I thought one of the twins really resembled Kim, and now, I can't remember which one because I see her in both of them. Kim's untimely passing is a reminder to me to live life to its fullest and to love unconditionally. Your coping and bonds endearing. Continuing to send love from Idaho xx
