Day 785 (Y2D55)

Friday the 13th is always a little intimidating.

We made the best of it by drawing with our new colorful chalk and playing cards with our patient Uncle Josh. V took us to the park and made us bacon stuffed mushrooms, hard boiled eggs and creamy pasta for dinner!

Mom went to her appointment today. Her platelets are still low (13) but not at transfusion level. Her hemoglobin is 6.9 so she will get two units tomorrow. Her WBCs stayed low at 1.3. Dr. M said he was getting suspicious that her numbers haven't started to recover yet.

For most people with a successful induction, the recovery would have began by now. For Mom, either her marrow is still in shock from chemotherapy and taking longer to recover or there are leukemic cells remaining in her marrow that are delaying a normal recovery.

If Mom's numbers remain this low in a week, Dr. M will do a biopsy to investigate her marrow. Let's all hope that Mom's numbers will start to recover! Go normal stems cells go!

At bedtime we tried to help Mom grow hair. We also convinced Dad and Mom to play Ring around the Rosy with us or else!

Oh, yes...welcome to the world Little Allen! Here's our day:
