Dad accompanied Mom to her 7 appointments today. It was a romantic date split amongst the Cancer Center and the Hospital. By the end of the day, Mom and Dad had sampled tasty caffeinated beverages and fries and could navigate anywhere in the medical complex. Mom and Dad rarely get to spend so much time without us because they typically don't want to miss a moment of our splendor and good humor.
Mom got her lungs and heart tested to establish baseline numbers. They met with the BMT social worker, the consent nurse and Dr. M too. They asked a lot of questions and received a lot of information some of which was new to them.
Mom found out she may grow dark sideburns from one of the medicines! Dad learned he would be cooking up a storm for Mommy over the coming months in order to meet the needs of her BMT diet. Mom keeps telling us that in a couple weeks, she will go on another trip to the hospital for about a month but we are focusing on enjoying every moment.
We had a great day with V and Uncle Ban. Twinks cried a lot all day for no obvious reason. We all hope she will be happier tomorrow after a long night's rest. We impressed Auntie Beans with our height, maturity, tune recognition and drawing skills. We are pretty advanced these days!
Mom, Dad and Uncle Ban enjoyed some Chicago pizza for dinner after we went to bed. It was actually shipped from The Windy City. It was absolutely tasty. We hope that they saved some for us to sample!
Here's our day:
