Day 795 (Y2D65)

Monday was very merry.

Mom spent a longer morning with us since she shifted V's hours later for the day. Dad serenaded us with songs from our shapes and color videos. Mom let us play camp in the family room. She zipped us in our tents and we pretended to sleep. V took us for a walk to the park!

Uncle D and his nephew Luis started constructing the new vegetable beds, irrigation extensions and lawn edge that Mom envisioned for our backyard. Mom was so excited to see her drawing come alive so quickly! This is why she became a landscape architect!

We miss M. She sent Mom a video of us singing a song with her. We hope to see her or Skype with her soon!

Mom and Dad met Dr. N. He patiently answered their many questions and expressed concern, as did Dr. M, that Mom's counts have not yet recovered. The new plan is to bypass the consolidation round and go straight to BMT without passing go. (Mom was really looking forward to that yellow $100!) Mom will begin the pre-treatment myeloablative chemotherapy and full-body radiation in less than a month.

Mom and Jess will start having pre-BMT appointments in the coming weeks to prepare. Mema may come back a little sooner in mid-October to start her faithful caregiver duties. There will be another bone marrow biopsy in the coming weeks to see if Mom's marrow is showing signs of recovery or if any snarky disease can be detected. Watch out leukemia - we are bring out the big treatment artillery now.

Mom and Jber are training hard like Rocky now. They are listening to Eye of the Tiger and preparing for the big transplant. They need to be in as good shape as possible in order to sail through it all as smoothly as possible. Mom and Jber, we are all on your side, rooting for you!

After we went to bed, Auntie Amy arrived. She will be Mom's buddy tomorrow for her blood draw appointment. We look forward to seeing you in the morning, Auntie A!
