Mom was a bit concerned a few of the symptoms she had been feeling over the last several days were pointing towards a relapse. To ease her mind or perhaps to catch it as early as possible, she biked herself to the Cancer Center after a meeting at work and got her blood drawn.
Within 15 minutes, her metabolic panel came back normal. Whew. Then came the call from Dr. M about the CBC. Personal calls from doctors are not usually a good sign. Mom had over 113,000 WBCs with 90% blasts and this points towards a relapse.
Mom and Dad are still in a daze.
Everything is happening quickly and we have had so many offers for help. Thank you all for being so thoughtful and generous with yourselves.
Mema will arrive tomorrow for an extended stay. Mom will be admitted on Thursday and treatment will commence. Auntie Jber will be coming soon to rescue Mom by giving Mom her super awesome immune system. Aunt Lin has next day mailed several juicy couture vellore suits for Mom's chemo-transplant-stay-cation and has volunteered to help with Max.
Nai Nai and M have offered to help in any way. Buo Buo and Loni brought by homemade soup. Auntie Rachel has offered lots of food and fun t-shirts for Daddy. Mom's coworkers have all offered hugs, love and help.
We are so happy that Mommy has so many people that care about her.
Mom, we are cheering for yours and Auntie Jber's body to beat this AML once and for all!
