Day 751 (Y2D21) ChemoR1D2

Happy Saturday!

Mom woke up feeling great! The first round of chemo had started working it's magic during the night and lysed thousands of mom's pesky cancer cells. By morning, Mom awoke to gums that were much less agitated and a back, neck and throat that were much less sore!

Mom says these next days are the golden days when the leukemia pains are minimizing and the chemo side effects have not yet kicked in. She will enjoy this calm before the storm.

Mom shared a hospital room most of the day with another women a few years her senior named C who was battling her third bout with cancer. C had her first cancer at age 15, a different one at 35 and a third kind at her current age of 40. Her first cancer led C to have two heart attacks in her 30s.

C's experiences made Mom feel lucky to be only on a relapse of her first cancer. We guess everything is relative.

We spent the day with M, Mema, Victoria, Pamela and Magui. We went to the park and went swimming. We were so ready to hit the hay after bath. It's hard albeit fun to be such big adventurers.
