Day 912 (Y2D182) +94BMT

Saturday was a dream.

Mommy got to sleep in and when she awoke she found out her WBCs dropped 8 times lower overnight! Keep going chemo! It's too early to scream victory but this downward trend feels like a step in the right direction. Her immunosuppressant medicines are being tapered to nothing over the next couple of days which means Jess's immune system will get the chance for the more fair fight that she has been waiting all too long for. It is judgement day for big sister v leukemia.

Today was the last shot of hot pink Idarubicin chemotherapy. The next two days will finish off the first part of the treatment and then daily neupogen shots will commence until Mom's counts recover. We wait while the cytotoxins make a mess for all fast growing cells in Mommy and then do a marrow check on day 14 of the regime.

Mom started to feel a little queasy in the early evening but nothing a little Ativan couldn't stave off. Mom wore as many different striped clothes items in one outfit. It was pretty a intense, silly look! We dress like this pretty much every day but at least we have an excuse - we are only 2.5 years old!

Today was Cousin Evan's birthday! Happy first birthday party!

Aunt Jessie spent the whole afternoon and evening with Mom. Auntie Drew hung out too for a long time and helped Jessie string the paper cranes that family and friends generously folded for Mommy so she could get a wish granted.

Daddy brought us to visit Mom at the hospital and he packed us tons of good snacks like bunny crackers, bunny gummies and squeezy fruit. We wore our light up shoes from M. We were very well behaved and wanted to hold Mom and Dad's hand as we walked out in a circle but we realized we don't know how to walk sideways yet. We especially love the fountain in front of the hospital.

Aunt Jessie and Mom had a best of 5 pickup sticks showdown. Big sister won a close match of 3 to 2. They used to play this game for hours when they were little in the summer at their grandparents. It was just like old times. Jess helped Mom work on her memory book for us. We are excited to see it and learn more about Mommy.

After our quiet time in our room this afternoon in which we didn't nap a wink, Buo Buo and Daddy took us on a stroller run to downtown. We fell asleep to the gentle vibrations of the Bob like we used to when we were little. Daddy made us a tasty Asian fusion dinner followed by a 'deddert' of rocky road ice cream with sprinkles. Yum. We Facetimed Mom at dinner too. During bath, we played with our new syringes from the hospital and squirted Daddy and one another. Afterward, we were very ready to turn in for bedtime.

Mom was so glad to see Aunt Jessie for 3 days in a row. She is sad to see her go as always. Soon Mema and Uncle Dave will arrive. Having all of this family around is a dream come true.

Here's our day:
