Afterwards Auntie Amy and Mema took us to our favorite pizza place. We had all our favorite things - pizza, salad and juice. But this time we were feeling kind of cranky so "it" was decided that we wouldn't have any ice cream cookies and instead, would head home.
When we got home we found out that Gu Gu was in town too! Now not only did we have Auntie Jessie and Auntie Amy now Gu Gu joined the fray. We are lucky girls that we had all of these amazingly beautiful (and highly educated women) aunties to take care of us. Then we went for a nap.
When we woke up, daddy was home and surprised us by inviting us to go see mommy! Also Auntie Loni was here cooking up a crazy storm of delicious food. Wow so many aunties in a single day. We were so excited to go that we got dressed very quickly, didn't ask for a video, barely touched our smoothies and were on our way. Gu Gu came with us and dropped us off at the front door of the hospital and daddy pushed us to see mommy. Mommy was out for a scan at nuclear medicine so we had to wait for a while. We consumed snacks, walked the hallway, climbed the stairs and took the elevator. It was super fun!
Finally mommy came back in a wheel chair and we got to hang out with her. She brought us chocolates, we hung out like a family, kissed and we nuggled,
At the end of the day V and Gugu took us home to take care of us, feed us dinner, and eventually give us a bath and put us to bed. Gugu and Aunti Loni read us stories and took such good care of us. Then the super surprise we heard was that, auntie Lindsey was coming to visit tonight too! We are excited to see her tomorrow! What a day!
We worry for mommy though. Mommy was not having a good day in the morning. Auntie Jessie did an amazing job of getting mommy to go for walks, taking down her ensures, and took care of her when she had to go to the bathroom. When daddy arrive mommy's pulse and respiratory rate had started getting quite high - clearly everyone was stressed from the nursing staff, the family and the doctors. There were a host of issues affecting including water retention, low venous pressure, kidney failure and continued candida infection. Mommy was feeling low energy. The doctors identified that the biggest challenge was getting her blood volume up and decided to transfuse two units of RBCs along with the platelets that she needed. By the afternoon it seemed that the tachycardia and high respiratory rate was slowed down. Mommy, daddy, mema and Aunt Jessie spent most of the day together, reminiscing and encouraging mommy. After a series of body scans it seemed that the main issue continued to be the intravenous fluid volume. Together with the doctors they came up with a plan to begin addressing this and we are now hopeful that this will take care of the immediate concerns. Mommy even had a really good BM that is a positive sign. By the evening she was alert, wakeful and busted out a walk like a champ - the rest of the family could barely keep up. Mommy said it was due to the RBCs but we know that it is the strong will of a woman who can hang with us.
