Day 958 (Y2D228) +140 BMT

We had a wonderful day today.  We woke up to aunt lindsey who took such good care of us before V took over.  You can tell that her calm and collected demeanor, that she has honed by practicing on cousin Max and cousin Kiley, is strong.   Nai Nai came over too and saw how wonderfully behaved we were.  We decided to show off our ability to use our potties in the middle of breakfast.  Daddy usually says "Really?  now?"  But Nai nai couldn't believe it and was so excited to see how well we handle things.  Of course calm auntie helped us along as well.

V took over and she helped us get ready for some painting, which we love.  Nai nai helped us paint circles while Aunt Lindsey got some work done.  A surprise though, daddy came home to take Nai nai to go see mommy.  We went to the park where we had a blast.

When we came home, we had yet another surprise, as daddy returned again.  Daddy had to bike over to go give some platelets because mommy has been chewing through platelets.  We hope it isn't DIC.  We hope it's just her recovering but overactive immune system kicking into high gear.

Aunt Torrey stopped by to drop off some goodies for us, but unfortunately nobody was here to greet her (we were in the bath with V).  Daddy came home to put us to bed and he came wearing a green bandage on his arm.  We love it when he gives blood because then we get to wear his bandage.  Daddy put the bandage around our head like RAMBO!  We were excited.  We got to read new books that Daddy checked out from the library entitlted "My Mommy" and "My Daddy", which are books that the author, Aunt Claire, introduced us to.

Mommy had a big milestone!  It was day 28 of this round of chemo so it meant that she had her bone marrow biopsy which should hopefully indicate either a clear/empty marrow (so there is no leukemia) or a recovering normal marrow, which in case we will jump for joy!  The biopsy went well because mommy had her hero, Carl!  Carl is the best bone marrow biopsy guy though we prefer to think of him as the "Good Dog" that takes care of the baby while the mommy is away.  He got great samples and Dr. Jackie was there to make sure all the right orders were placed.  Daddy held her hand the whole time.  Our fingers are crossed for good news in these results.

Mommy had an ok day otherwise.  She ate pretty decently, went on walks and was improving on normal body function.  She got massages and was pretty tired the whole day.  In her sleep she would have crystal clear conversations in her dreams.  She dreamed of sneaking out of the hospital to see us, she dreamed of our good friend Duke the dog, she dreamed about mortgage closings and many other things.  Alas, these dreams sound wonderful to us.  We miss our mom.
