Mom let us sleep in our Halloween color costumes! Dinks is purple and Twinks is blue. We also like to pretend we are stuffed animals. We like to climb into the bin of toys and hide amongst the soft creatures.
While we went to the park with V, Mom and Dad went on a date to the beach. They armed themselves with tasty caffeinated beverages and started their mini road trip through the majestic redwood forest. As the forest gave way to farm stands and pumpkin patches, they could see the Pacific. It was gorgeous to drive alongside the ocean and terminate at Mom's favorite bakery for lunch. Mom and Dad have always loved to road trip together.
After a delicious meal of portobello mushrooms and crispy fries, Mom and Dad went for a walk along the ocean cliffs. The day was just absolutely breathtaking. Mom and Dad enjoyed each others company and soaked in every sun-filled moment.
Their date continued on to the Cancer Center where Mom got a few pretreatment tests and did a blood draw. Mom's WBCs, hemoglobin and platelets are still at the same, fairly low numbers. Mom and Dad went to a catheter class too and learned basic care for the new chest catheter that will replace Mom's arm PICC on Monday.
We are pretty oblivious as to what is going on with Mom. Mom and Dad think this is a blessing because it means we are not scared about the future. Our present-mindedness is such a good example for Mom who will have to work hard in the coming days and months to keep this type of mindset. We will gladly teach her how.
While Dad read Dinks a book, Twinks paraded around the room with her box feet. Before bed we played hide n' seek. We are starting to attempt to climb out of our cribs. It may be time for big girl beds soon! Mom and Dad wish we could sleep in cribs forever.
