Donor Aunt Jessie bravely took another shot of neupogen for the team despite having more cumulative bone aches with each passing day. She wore her orange cape, cuffs and headpiece fearlessly to motivate her little sister, our Mommy, and showed her that this is journey, and despite short-term pains, it is a very worthy one. Aunt Jessie, thank you for being such a fearless leader with a sense of humor.
Mommy woke up feeling great. She organized her private room in a manner that pleased her. Cleaning always makes Mommy feel more in control and at peace. Mommy received her second and last high dose chemotherapy today of cytoxan. She tolerated it fairly well during the drip but was been queasy the remainder of the day. She fought back nausea urges and tried to relax. Hopefully after a good night sleep and the magic of some anti-nausea medicines, her stomach will untie itself.
Aunt Lindsey spent the day with Max and checked in with Mommy often to make sure she was okay. Thank you Aunt Beans for your photos and concerned calls. Daddy also visited Mommy too and gave her a big, juicy bear hug. Mema was there to support everyone and keep all of the troops fed, organized and safe.
As for us, we maximized our Daddy and V snuggles. We played our hearts out at the park and had jam sessions with Dad in the family room. We miss Mommy but we realize she is on a trip to the hospital. In the meantime we will continue to lead by example of how to live in the moment for her. We love you Mom.
Here's ours and Mom's day:
