Day 838 (Y2D108) +20BMT

Tuesday was swell.

Mom went in for a checkup and her numbers are all within normal range with the exception of one slightly elevated liver function. Mom learned today that the success of the transplant and staying in remission are two different things. The hope is that the transplant will cure Mom of leukemia but only time will tell. Big landmarks are year 1 and year 2.

Mom has been in this situation before of uncertainty and fortunately has become quite comfortable with accepting it. For the moment, Mom is feeling great and squeezing every morsel out of life she can get. She is so thankful for her excellent caregivers and the community of support she feels is lifting her up. Thank you for taking care of our Mommy!

As for our day, we had fun at the park with V. Twinks insisted on wearing her kitty boots on the opposite feet so she had a lot of falls. V made us a super cool paper turkey that we will hang up on our window and add thankful hands to as the holiday approaches. V is very clever.

We like to run around in our big-girl potty training pullups. We are also getting more used to sleeping in big girls beds and it takes is less time to settle in a night. Mom got us some portable owl night lights that help us be less scared. Dad puts in our colorful duct tape belts and draws pictures on it for us. Lately, we always write 'Duke' on our duct tape belts because he is our puppy friend who is on need of some TLC right now and extra positive thoughts.

Mema and Mom took a lovely long walk around town. They preordered a tasty organic turkey and observed all of the beautiful fall colors. Daddy made everyone for dinner mashed sweet potatoes and chicken fingers. We were already asleep but will sample it tomorrow!
