Today is her funeral service. She would've loved today. It was a crispy fall lovliness with lots of leaves of bright colors coating the ground. Here's a few photos of our Debbie:
We celebrated the moments with playing matching games with Uncle Dave, having a serious play-doh session, wearing our purple hats to the playground and enjoying our time with V and her new tall boots.
These days we are talking so clearly and speaking so many words. Mom and Dad can even at times understand why we are upset. We like being able to communicate but sometimes we get so upset that we cannot find the words to express why. Sometimes we just need to be picked up and snuggled.
Mom had a routine checkup and everything looks great in terms of blood counts. Mom is having a countdown to Day 40 post-transplant when she can start to eat dairy again! Yum.
Mema accompanied Mom on a long walk. They tried a new road and discovered many new homes in the neighborhood they hadn't seen before. People were starting to string up festive holiday lights already that got you in the mood for the approach of Chanukah, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Daddy and Uncle Dave spent the afternoon with Dad's coworkers celebrating an early Thanksgiving at The Dutch Goose. The lunch continued into an evening beer pong tournament back at our home. We watched them all play from inside.
Mom used leaves from our new Kaffir Lime tree and lemongrass shrub as well as Aunt Loni's thai peppers to make a pleasingly refreshing Thai Chicken Soup. Mema loved it! Daddy loved it! Mema made a minty cucumber and tomato salad with red wine vinegar that also tasted great.
